The Upsides are a few years into their rock and roll journey and their new single Pretending It Fades has all the reverence of a band that knows that the real gets real. A progressive gem, every effective chorus drop hits epic out of the pensive verse. We love that contrast. Stylistically they bring some classic indie flavor into the modern canon.

Lucas Köksal is an independent producer and singer/ songwriter from Windsor, Ontario. His music explores and combines genres such as indie pop, funk, r&b, and electronic. His new single Tide is both a cool song and an impressive production. Textured sounds are effectively treated to make Tide its own immersive musical world. In that way it recalls an influence of Mk.gee or Joji. We love that aura.

Its easy to get lost in Songbird, the new single from Bonnie Hook. The song has a rare dreamy quality. Its a little dark and slightly psychedelic. In that way we hear an influence of Melanie or Jefferson Airplane mixed with the modern indie folk influence of Fleet Foxes or Big Thief. We love that blend.

We love the untamed unassuming layers heard on 800cc, the new single from hoosiers up front. The proficient producer has lent his talent to some notable talents like alt-J and Bloc Party. Like both he brings an innovative electronic touch to his indie songwriter style. Hoosiers features an addictive vocal melody beneath thick dynamic instrumental layers. We love it.
