For their last release of 2023 the prolific London based eclectic indie pop project Arliston dropped their single Thawed. The imaginative arrangement features impressive production. Most notably a rare adapted string part, one that transcends from conventional to cosmically warped as Arliston embraces modern techs opportunity to enhance their creative cinematic tendencies.

Thawed is listenable, but never conventional. From the jagged Alt J style drum part to the whiplashing melodic movements, Thawed stays exciting.
Their prowess as producers is rare. We hear elements that resonate with an influence of Bon Iver in how they blend electronic production within an indie folk influence. We also hear similarities to The National in the vocal delivery of the bridge section. But mostly we hear a project that’s very much coming into its own. There are an abundance of singles dating back 5 years, all with their own cinematic musical dream worlds. Arliston as a project is very much a journey, where it goes from here we can’t wait to hear.
