Anticipation for the new Colony House record grows with the release of “Hummingbird.” This song is indie pop/rock gold. Fans of artists like Bad Suns and COIN will love the tight, balanced presentation of pleasant instrumental tones and catchy, memorable vocal melodies. We feel especially impressed by the sophisticated chord changes; this song takes some surprising turns but still offers satisfying relief for the tension it builds. 77 (Pt. 2) releases on February 13th and we can’t wait!

Barely Stitched,” the newest release by Chris Canipe, fits comfortably in an atmosphere with music from artists like Death Cab for Cutie and Wilco. By this, we mean its sonic fabric has been noticeably woven with pop, rock, and folk influences. We hear pop in the catchy progression and melodies, rock in the guitar-driven instrumental arrangement, and folk in the socially-conscious lyrical composition. If you dig it as much as we do, keep an eye out for Canipe’s upcoming record Monuments!

New Constellations defines modernity with this new indie pop single, “I Disappear.” Let’s talk about the rhythm first: this song is anchored by a harsh, boom-bap-inspired percussion track. Its edge is softened slightly by atmospheric synth and guitar tones that bring bands like Phantogram to mind. The centerpiece of the track, in our opinion, is the stunning, organic lead vocal performance; we hear some similarities to Julien Baker, and that’s not a comparison we get to draw often! Mark your calendars for the May 15th release of this exciting duo’s upcoming album, It Comes in Waves.

Check out this frenetic and digital new single by Bishu! “DOOMSCROLL (feat. PROP)” is an uptempo, pop punk-inspired indietronica gem. The bones of the song remind us of artists like Jean Dawson and blackbear while those digital melodies give us video game soundtrack vibes. It’s quick, it’s fresh, it’s catchy, and it’s loud: it’s “DOOMSCROLL (feat. PROP)” by Bishu.
