Catherine Brookman’s debut album is finally here! One of our absolute favorite songs on the record is “Mourning Dove.” Its mellow, atmospheric instrumental arrangement is incredibly patient, choosing carefully when to flourish and when to leave room for Brookman’s warm, resonant vocals. This is a tough one to categorize (which is a testament to its originality), but it has some indietronica qualities. We sort of hear it as a cross between Cautious Clay and Florence + The Machine. We just found the perfect addition for your indie dance playlists: “Talk (feat. HUNJIYA)” by MAARTE is infectious! The steady groove, the chunky guitar tone, the soulful vocals, the bright production… everything about this song makes us want to move.

We recommend it for fans of artists like Mk.gee and Dijon!

Richard X’s rework of “Beautiful” by Goldfrapp is a sharp, sensual, indietronica temptation. Fans of Kylie Minogue should love the groove and melodies, and fans of bands like Depeche Mode will feel drawn to the dark-yet-vivacious instrumental arrangement.

It feels perfect for the red carpet or the runway; or anywhere with flashing lights, for that matter.
