Check out “guide me,” a cinematic, new, alt pop slow-burn by sunbreather. This song is characterized by atmospheric tones, tender vocals, and simple percussion (that is, until it arrives at a rhythmic boost around the 2:15 mark). It’s scenic. It’s narrative. And it takes its careful time. We think fans of artists like Labrinth and Arlo Parks should love it. And there’s more where it came from: sunbreather’s full-length album dust settles is out now!
Anticipation for Only The Poets’ debut record, And I’d Do It Again, grows with the release of their newest indie pop single “Thinking Bout Your Ex.” Fans of The 1975 will appreciate the song’s hooky structure and clean production, and fans of artists like Cautious Clay will love the soulful melodies and gospel-like harmonies. We’re putting this one on repeat.
Haven’t heard the new My Girls album yet? What are you waiting for! Dream Rig is available now on Spotify and “Heartbeat” is one of our favorite songs on the record. This song has that quintessential indie rock instrumental arrangement: chorus guitar, melodic bass, steady drums. What makes it unique compared to other indie rock songs, though, is its prioritization of vocals. The lead melodies are poppy and memorable, and this is especially evident in the choruses. “Heartbeat” could fit well on a playlist with Mac DeMarco and similar artists.

The titular song on Henry Blaeser’s newest EP, Street, is indietronica gold. This song makes the most of restraint: its instrumental arrangement is spare-yet-effective, and every sound appears carefully placed. At the same time, though, it feels free and intuitive. The chorus melodies are catchy too, which can’t always be said about experimental songs such as this. We think fans of artists like The National and James Blake will love it. Be sure to check out the whole EP now!
