Fans of artists like Wet Leg and Alvvays will love this new single by Shybaby. “Scratcher” combines a rock instrumental arrangement with pop progressions and structure to achieve a sound that is definitively alt pop. The guitars and drums sound relatively heavy, but they’re lightened by the bubbly vocal melodies (which are quite memorable). Keep an eye out for some really cool percussive moves as you listen!
All at Once, the newest EP by Altai, kicks off with a massive indie rock sound. “They Owe Him” features atmospheric guitars, boomy drums, and a wide vocal arrangement. Fans of artists like Sharon Van Etten and Sam Fender will love it especially, but we think listeners of any genre should feel compelled by that swingy rhythm. We feel like it would sound awesome performed live!
Check out this gorgeous new folk rock single by Ted Bunny: “My Dear Darling” by Ted Bunny exemplifies how imperfection can sometimes sound so perfect. The bendy guitars invite some quarter tones into the mix and the vocal cadence is always just slightly off-tempo, but these elements make the song feel organic more than anything else. We recommend it for fans of George Harrison.

We love what we hear in the lead-off single from a forthcoming album by Ocean Lights: “The Midwest” is indie pop gold. The rhythm is groovy, the vocal melodies are impressive and memorable, and the mix is flawlessly balanced. We think it fits well somewhere between Harry Styles and Inhaler, and we look forward to future releases!
