Indie Underrated – LOVA, Duz Mancini, Channo

“It’s Alright,” the latest single by LOVA, is more than alright. This indie pop song is a banger! It’s anchored by some incredibly groovy digital rhythms and decorated with acoustic and electro-pop tones alike. The clean vocal layers are especially impressive; one listen to those harmonies and you’ll surely be in love. We recommend this…

It’s Alright,” the latest single by LOVA, is more than alright. This indie pop song is a banger! It’s anchored by some incredibly groovy digital rhythms and decorated with acoustic and electro-pop tones alike. The clean vocal layers are especially impressive; one listen to those harmonies and you’ll surely be in love. We recommend this one for fans of artists like Remi Wolf and Lola Young.

Did somebody say lofi heartland rock? Duz Mancini‘s newest single, “Nostalgic Heat,” fuses genres in a creative and refreshing way. The instrumental arrangement is rather spare with pulsating synth tones and tasteful guitar licks, but the structural arrangement is so tight that the choruses find a way to hit with significant power. The vocal performance brings to mind Matt Berninger, so we think fans of The National should love it.

We love what we hear in “Temper,” the newest single by Channo. This indie rock jam is mainly characterized by an assortment of wah wah melodies, steady rhythms, dexterous guitars, and wide vocals. There’s a brightness to it, established by the shimmering acoustic guitar, and a grit, courtesy of the production. We think fans of artists like Kurt Vile should love it.
