We love what we hear in “Bed of Violets,” the latest release by Foot Ox. This indie folk single is bright and sophisticated. The vocals are tightly layered. The strummy electric guitars are casual. And the string and key tones are tastefully restrained. Structurally and rhythmically, the song makes some pleasantly surprising moves and we think fans of bands like Wilco and/or Guded by Voices will appreciate the artistry!
amie charms with the release of this new single “Bad Guess.” This indie/folk/pop track is characterized by a rhythmic acoustic guitar, gentle horns, and playful percussion. It feels simultaneously organized and spontaneous, making it a well-balanced demonstration of amie’s craft and imagination. We think fans of artists like Orla Gartland will love it.
“front door” by sine language is an indie pop dreamscape. This single’s dramatic rhythm tugs at listeners’ heartstrings while resonant guitars fill the air and layered vocals shine. Overall, it has a chill atmosphere that evokes images of the sky and we recommend it for fans of artists like Lorde.
Doug Gatta‘s new song “Endless Summer” is the perfect sonic space for some end-of-summer reflection. Dressed in a punk-inspired instrumental arrangement, this track delivers meaningful lyrics by way of powerful music. The drums are loud, the guitars are physical, and the structural arrangement is dynamic. It’s a sure thing for fans of bands like The Gaslight Anthem.
“Endless Summer” arrives as part of a full-length project titled Sic Semper Tyrannis. Check it out now!
Hatchback has a new album called Mating and one of our favorite songs on it is “Rope.” This alt pop song’s steady rhythm and atmospheric guitar arrangement give the highlight of the song, the emotional vocals, plenty of room to stretch. Hatchback makes the song especially unique by including some modern production techniques like vocal chopping. We like how the music really flourishes toward the end. If you’re a fan of The 1975, give this song (and album) a listen!
