Jet Vesper has a new, full-length album out and “Sonny” is one of our favorite songs on it. The bassline is compelling, the percussion is steady, the guitar tones are smooth, and the grainy falsetto vocals deliver some incredibly catchy melodies. Jet Vesper is an artist who excels at combining modern production strategies with timeless, R&B-inspired composition techniques and for that reason we think fans of artists like Still Woozy should love not only this song but the entirety of Jet Vesper’s new album, Casual Viewing Experience.
We love what we hear in “CHUN LI,” the newest single from BOOMVISION. It impresses us any time an artist is able to experiment with structural and instrumental arrangements while also maintaining a hooky groove and/or melody. BOOMVISION does just that with this artistic new indie pop title. “CHUN LI” is characterized by an eclectic mix of digital tones, roomy percussion tracks, and unison vocals. The song follows jagged and unpredictable paths, but it always arrives satisfyingly at its memorable refrain. Fans of artists like A.G. Cook should like it especially.
meg elsier‘s new song “run [oldsong]” has us feeling nostalgic. This track arrives as part of the deluxe version of elsier’s 2024 record “spittake.” It’s anchored by 80s inspired rhythms and keys, and it’s elevated by a beautifully weightless vocal arrangement. Toward the end of the song, the infectiously groovy bridge/outro will surely have listeners moving. We recommend it for fans of Blondshell and/or The 1975. Be sure to check out all of “spittake (deluxe),” available for listening now!
