Ev. G’s new single Belladonna made a big impact on us for its experimental instrumental, made from sound effects edited with reversals and reverb. A gentle piano is sampled throughout the song, and layered on top are expressive synth and string textures. To mention the instrumental again, the non-traditional effects are indescribable – unlike anything else. It’s worth noting the interesting use of harmonic layering in the vocals, which give them a metallic sound. Along with this track is a striking music video, which we encourage you to watch.
