You have to hear “High School (feat. Annie-Dog)” by Just Wondering. This song is a kinetic, indie-dance spectacle. It uses all available stereo space to create a 360 degree sonic landscape that pulls its listeners in every direction. While doing this, it features some incredibly melodic vocal parts and support from the ever-talented Annie-Dog. We think it’s a sure thing for fans of bands like Glass Animals and/or TV On The Radio.
We love what we’re hearing in “Gropiusstadt,” the triumphant new indie rock single by Lutzilla. This song has everything you could want in an indie rock song: choppy electric guitars, steady drums, an active bass line, heartfelt vocals, and horns for some added flavor. Instrumentally, we think it shares similarities with music from artists like Sam Fender. But Lutzilla finds plenty of ways to display their own idiosyncrasies and make this song uniquely theirs.
Panam is making a sonic statement with the release of its newest album Circles. The first song on the record, “Please Don’t Stop,” is one of our favorites. This indie-pop track is certifiably catchy. The Nile Rodgers inspired guitar technique mixes incredibly well with the song’s more atmospheric qualities to achieve that eclectically-inspired indie sound that Panam has come to define itself by. We think fans of bands like Phoenix should love it.
