Robert DeLong and DEANE’s new song “Somebody Watching Me” is a hallucinatory Electronic anthem that feels both eerie and danceable. Heavy bass and groovy disco synths make the song feel paradoxically nostalgic and futuristic. The refreshing take on modernized Dance and Pop is exactly what listeners need.

The song’s video depicts an old school television screen showing different grids that contain DeLong singing and dancing. The saturated filters of the screen resemble the bright textures of the song itself. With a vocal performance that’s coated with effects and layers and prominent Dance drums, this song is an unforgettable upbeat anthem.

“Lights Over Summer” by Couch Cult is out now. The singer’s vocal tendencies are unique and intriguing and keep things interesting. The sudden buildups and abandonments of instrumentation keep listeners on their toes wondering what’s to come next.

The lyrics center around a good summer vibe and attribute lights in summertime to stars in the sky. The clever approach to curating a feeling is executed perfectly as the song really feels like it’s meant for summer. The bridge provides a sense of diversity from the primary progression maintained throughout the majority of the song. The catchy melodic progressions are my favorite part about this track, as they’re stimulating and also very catchy.

“Chapped Lips, Choking,” the new melodic ballad from dring has been released. The song’s slow tempo and minimal instrumentation is ideal for allowing dring to express her thoughts on the track. The emotionally driven lyrics, some of which I interpreted as lines about the complex and touchy combination of intoxication and romantic endeavors, are something that some listeners need to hear and can relate to.

About halfway through the track, there is a subtle change of instrumentation as a piano is introduced. With less than a minute left, a new guitar melody and drums are introduced. All of this evolution makes the song feel even more cinematic as it feels like the entire time we’re progressing towards something.
