“CALL ME BABE” is the infectious new indie-folk single by Shane J. O’Dwyer. This song is characterized by a thumping rhythm, spontaneous acoustic guitars, and a hearty vocal arrangement. The production value is especially impressive as it makes the song uniquely atmospheric in comparison to others of the same genre. We think fans of artists like Caamp should love it!
Indie rock’s Sixpence None The Richer proves that there’s never a bad time to pay homage to your influences with this new cover of Neil Young’s “The Needle and the Damage Done.” This version is more produced than Young’s, with a full instrumental arrangement consisting of electric guitar, bass, drums, and vocals. Young’s stripped-down original was plenty ominous, but the reverberation in Sixpence’s cover adds an extra layer of spookiness to the song. We think it does its justice and then some.
“Good News” is the first single to be released in anticipation of Conner Cherland’s upcoming album and it is a soulful indie-pop jam! The song features a full-but-restrained instrumental arrangement working in excellent support of the song’s most essential feature, the vocal performance. Cherland’s voice is raw, vulnerable, and well-controlled and he uses it to deliver some seriously catchy melodies throughout the song. Fans of Hozier and/or Jason Mraz should find plenty to love about “Good News.”
