“Miami Tweed” is a kinetic new indie-rock banger off of Karyo, the newest EP by Stovetop Gemini. This song is mainly characterized by a dirty guitar arrangement, Latin rhythms, and a forceful lead vocal performance. It has drifting, atmospheric verses that balance out the in-your-face choruses and give the song a variability that keeps it interesting from beginning to end. “Miami Tweed” has a ton of punch and, for that reason, it reminds us of music from bands like Highly Suspect. However, the song carries a rock grooviness that belongs uniquely to Stovetop Gemini. Be sure to check out Karyo in its entirety on Spotify now!
“Perry” is the first single off of the upcoming album by SANTIAGO DIGITAL and it is infectious! Artists are lucky if they can fit just one catchy melody into a song. This indie-pop ditty has several. The instrumental arrangement includes a steady rhythm section, piano tones, synth tones, and other digital tracks that all seem surprising-yet-appropriate. And filling the space around these instruments is a modest vocal performance that brings a warm quality to the overall song. We think fans of artists like Empire of the Sun will especially like it. (The video is really cool too!)
“Flowers on Your Grave” is the upbeat new indie-rock single from Dead Phones & Dogs. The song begins with a heavy drum track that quickly segues into a verse complete with melancholic guitar chords and a soft vocal performance. Don’t, however, let the vulnerability in the verses fool you. This song has a massive chorus that is performed with raw energy and angst. We think fans of early 2000s pop rock groups like Fall Out Boy will love it.
