“Favours,” is the forceful debut single from Brighton-based indie rockers Larlin that we can’t get enough of!
It kicks off pensive and dreamy, with just an atmospheric rhythm guitar and rich vocal arrangement courtesy of the talented Maryann Hoar. The song eventually blooms into a steady, pounding, total rock banger complete with crunchy guitars and a gigantic drum track. Producers Lewis Foord and Cameron Nesbitt have composed a compelling emotional arc for listeners.
Lyrically, the song is a profound contemplation on the quandary of feeling like a burden to the loved ones in your life. Larlin has done an exceptional job of pairing sound and lyric to capture the raw anxiety that comes with this relatable position.
We’d put this song in a category with bands like The Last Dinner Party and Wet Leg.

We love what we’re hearing in “Farewell,”” the newest single from Danish electropop duo Prize for the Future!
The first verse is mellow, anchored by a chorusy rhythm guitar and a steady (presumably) drum machine. This mellowness is temporarily sidelined for an upbeat pre chorus that includes an arrangement of well-balanced synth tones and leads into the catchy, titular refrain of “I never thought that you would be the stranger saying farewell.”
Overall, the structural arrangement of the song is pleasantly surprising from beginning to end. And the whole track is tied together by a beautiful, smooth, layered vocal arrangement. Collaborators Jakob Stougaard Wang and Laurits Thing Holm are creating at the top of their game with “Farewell.”
To us, it kind of sounds like a mix between Tame Impala and The Japanese House.

Promising, young indie-pop star-in-the-making Miles Temp has released an aesthetic new single titled “Before You.” If you’re a music fan who prioritizes vocals in your listening, check this out!
The story of the song focuses on that cataclysmic moment when a new person enters your life. You don’t necessarily know if it will be for the better or the worse, but you know you’ll never be the same again after meeting them.
The instrumental arrangement is a fairly straightforward lo-fi indie one. But this is perfect. Nothing is overdone and it leaves a ton of room for Temp’s precise vocal harmonies to take the stage, front and center. The melodies themselves, then, are catchy and emotion-evoking to match the story.
We think this song would fit well on playlists including music from artists like Angel Olsen or Djo. Miles Temp is on the rise and we’re here for it!
