Back 2 Ya” the latest from UK’s Martin Luke Brown is a groovy, lo-fi, soulful tune that would most certainly appease fans of Foster The People and Mac Demarco. The sparingly melodic guitar accents and simple driving bass lines give it a contagious pulse, topped off with a highly hypnotic chorus section.

The new single from Esther Hendricks entitled “This Love” is a refreshing mix of R&B, Jazz, Soul and World music. Inspired by her strong spiritual foundation and love of jazz singers like Frank Sinatra and Billie Holiday, the song lends itself to more of a Sade vibe. While rooted in a jazz foundation, the infectious rhythms and use of Eastern instruments like sitar, flute and tabla drums give it a unique sound unto itself.

Dig the new tune from Austin, TX singer Sophia Warren called “Static”, a dreamy synth pop banger with vocals that sound like a hard-hitting Sarah McLoughlin. It certainly echoes the folk-pop sensation of the 90s with more of an edge akin to The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Spacey guitars, slap echo’d drums, and Mellotron patches give it a healthy dose of post-punk as well.
