There’s a lot to love when it comes to Use Your Heart, the new album from Sorry Holly.  We were drawn to this work in the album first infectious moments.  The single Earth Tones and Pastels is the perfect launching point to immerse you into this vibe.  The raging guitars are effectively toned and textured, as the energy from the drum performance propels the momentum forward.  The singer impressively embraces a combination of emo, punk, and rock.  It’s a reflection of their overall blend, an amalgamation that combines the ethos of grunge, Harvey danger, and post punk convincingly.

Some of the albums highlights include the explosive deliverance of How Fast Are You Going?   On this number we hear a subtle influence of The Killers.  It’s a testament to the groups catchy essence.  There are progressive cinematic moments too, like the evolving epic of Bianca.

Altogether the album is a killer throwback that should equally please fans of old school and modern indie.
