Cecilia caught our attention with her new single Don’t Wanna Cry. The inspired intro is a clever setup for the tasteful beat that follows.
The tempo compliments Cecilia’s swagger. She’s silky smooth and sensually emotive.
There’s an element of disco soul to match her modern indie dance tendencies. “We can play a game for two if you want me to.” A perfect tease to ease you into the night. The party is young, let yourself love it.
Dreamy. Entrancing. Ethereal. Exotic. They all work to describe Endlessly, the new single from Lishkee and Luca Minelli.
The collaboration yields tasty fruit as the new single has everything you could want from an imaginative dream pop piece. There’s a lullaby quality, one that coalesces your mind to wander. The singers amplifies that quality with a relaxed, comforting essence.
The music is a combination of classic orchestration and modern electronic intrusions. Endlessly is a gorgeous art piece.
Gabriel Blake shines on his recent single Tinderbox. A song that would pair well with a cooler, a quilted blanket, and a journey to where the breeze makes humidity tolerable. The sparse acoustic guitar and double-tracked vocals evoke stylings reminiscent of Elliot Smith or Andy Schauf, and maintain a consistent tone throughout. Layers of Mellotron, and recognizable synthesizer sounds of the Yamaha PS20 add a lush lo-fi Beach House vibe. In terms of lyrical content, one can expect an array of nature inspired imagery and other “let’s get lost in the woods” themes.
It leads one to believe the song may have been conceived beneath a bridge (as inferred by Blake’s bio), watching the world happen. The crunchy, yet clean lo fi drum production suits the overall hipster/DIY ethos of the track and sits well within the overall mix. Tinderbox is special.
