Jill Ryan caught our attention with her new single Whatever It Takes.  The rapid surefire vocals are catchy and embrace a theatrical flair that conjures the lyrical message.

Her voice is a magnificent blend of indie pop and contemporary jazz or R&B.  In that way the vibe reflects Sylvan Esso but with a stronger vocal prowess.  The arrangement honors that influence.  It’s smart pop and we can’t get enough of it.  Whatever it takes, she’s got it.

Emma Rowley is full of emotional depth on her new single Not At All.  Her whispery hush delivery is full of strength and rare presence.  It’s a soft strength.  It suits the songs dramatic build.  The big drop honors that setup.

The song is well produced too.  Every sound is blessed with rare vitality, warped and distorted in a way that progressive and full of surprise.  Not At All is its own musical world, with Rowley as its champion.  Stylistically she bridges the vibe between Phoebe Bridgers and The War On Drugs.

There’s a lot to unpack on Take Me to The Water, the new single and video from Maven Grace.  Stylistically the song recalls an influence of Nico with an added modern chill psych sensibility.

The videos an unassuming portrait of its star.  At the opening you imagine wild debauchery, but what you’ve signed up is the contrast of their presence within the ordinary.  Find your bliss.

To the Lion’s Den we go.  The new single from Holly Lovell is intoxicating from its very first moment.  In tandem with the songs title, this somber indie folk mood feels like its on the brink of erupting.

Her writing bridges the gap between Neil Young and Feist.  It’s beautiful and haunting.  Lyrically brilliant with dreamy production that illuminates the sonic atmosphere, it’s easy to lose yourself in her Lion’s Den.
