Fausteir-A Call Away
Fausteir’s new single feels like a time machine trip right back to the 80s, save for the neon and bad haircuts. The musical wunderkind from Azerbaijan, who self produces all of his material, really demonstrates his star potential with this track. His vulnerable, deep vocals combine with warm analog synth pads and bubbling guitar lines for a dreamy, Beach House influenced track that almost has a mix of new wave as well.

The Search-Pick Me Up

Continuing with the strain of new wave in tonight’s selection is The Search’s new single Pick Me Up. Sweden’s hidden gem of indie rock continues to provide memorable melodies and heartfelt lyrics on their latest single. Lead singer Ramzig Tekeyan’s emotive lead vocal combines with heavily modulated electric guitars for a sound that feels right out of a The Police or The Smiths song. We’re happy to see that The Search is in the groove again, having taken a major hiatus from recording in the 2000s, only to re-emerge during the pandemic.

Alex Duffy-Rosewood

For a more soulful sound comes our final track, Alex Duffy’s Rosewood. The Canadian R&B artist delivers an atmospheric yet yearning ballad that feels like an update of the classic 90’s neo soul of artists like D’Angelo and Maxwell. Alex’s angelic tenor floats with the reverb heavy drums, gentle acoustic guitars and ambient synths for a sound that fans of alt-R&B juggernauts like Dijon and Omar Apollo will love.
