Herr Nilsson-Push My Baby

Norwegian indie pop band Herr Nilsson’s new single has us levitating. Following up on their 2022 album “Sun Sets in Skuteviken”, this track has a slightly eerie psychedelic vibe. The track feels like you took the classic bands of the 60s like the Doors and Pink Floyd and gave them a more modern coat of paint, with a bluesy guitar that flutters throughout the track and horns that add a cinematic feel.

Prima & Loki Beckons-Handful of Sand

Continuing in a dreamier direction is Prima and Loki Beckon’s collaborative effort, Handful of Sand. Fans of Men I Trust and Marina and the Diamonds will love the mellow yet evocative collaboration between the German singer and Australian producer. Prima’s soft alto glides with lo-fi electric piano, ticking percussion and rumbling synth bass for a colorful, reflective musical arrangement.

PatRiff-Becoming the Act

Fans of Tom Misch and Oliver Tree will love the final track in our selection, PatRiff’s new single Becoming the Act. The Seattle singer’s second single finds him blending a wide variety of sounds, with clean electric guitars and bouncy percussion that weaves between house grooves and the trap sound of the day. PatRiff’s vocal is doused in AutoTune and reverb in a manner similar to T-Pain and the album “808s and Heartbreak” by Kanye West, using the tool as a means of expressing his desire to find himself.
