Bryce Malenstyn-Blame it on the Weather
In an age of indie R&B with a slightly funky feel, Canada’s own Bryce Malenstyn is a name to look out for. The Vancouver based blue eyed soul singer brings his jazz tutelage to this track, a groovy tune that feels ripped straight from the late 70s. Fluttery electric pianos and jangly electric guitars make up the instrumentation, complimenting Bryce’s light, airy vocals well. Fans of Jamiroquai and The Free Nationals will love the off kilter yet retro R&B feel.

Astronaut Souvenirs-Lost Astronaut

For a more ambient, meditative track, we recommend Astronaut Souvenir’s new single, Lost Astronaut. The latest track from the dream pop duo feels right at home in a film score, with emphasis on gorgeous textures and emotional melodies. The track combines post rock soundscapes with classic songwriting, telling a story of an astronaut who can’t get home.

Network Decay-Rote

Our last track serves as a nice pick me up from the previous, with Network Decay’s groovy new single Rote. The followup to 2023’s single, Shallow Channel, Network Decay have put a stamp on the indie dance sound with a penchant for colorful, eclectic sound choices. A real highlight is the flute like synth that bounces throughout the stereo field, while the slightly distorted guitar line sticks in our head.
