The Family Grave’s new single, No Return, is a real tear jerker. The UK alternative folk act The Family Grave continues to demonstrate their prowess in sensitive, lo-fi ballads with this track, a poignant tune about leaving behind a chapter in life. Swelling Hammond organs and melancholic horns create a unique musical arrangement, while a guitar lead gives it a slight country feel.

The Soch’s new single, Breeze, certainly lives up to its title. The NY based singer-songwriter’s debut single, real name Nick Sochan, sets the stage for a dreamy, relaxed indie pop style that is sure to please. Fans of Clairo and Cigarettes after Sex will love the chill drum grooves and washed out guitars, and this song has atmosphere to spare. Nick’s vocals are soothing and full of feeling, for a fun song that has us ready for his next release.

The final track in our selection comes from NYC based dream pop band The Girls Upstairs. Their second single, produced by the band itself, the Girls really show their flair for woozy, creative soundscapes and emotional vocals that convey a great angst. Dark synth pads and jangly guitars bring a real 80s feel, recalling bands like The Cure and Roxy Music’s later work. The upbeat feel of the track recalls artists like Saki Waterhouse and Japanese Breakfast.
