Safari Zone wants to know, Is It Indie Already? We love the title and how it teases the scene. It suits their eccentric video, a detail that’s effectively displayed in the playful music video. Tune in and zone out, this catchy psychedelic smokeshow is worthy of some herbal enhancement. Oooooh that’s nice.
We adore the cinematic portrait of the artist offered in Honesty, the new video for the single by Lila Forde. The footage is stylized nostalgically and references the classic inspirations of Carole King and Joni Mitchell. She’s worthy of the association. Honesty is a soulful mix of folk and R&B in a way that King would celebrate. Lose yourself in this vibe.
Last May the rock underground lost a champion in Steve Albini. One of our favorite proper rock bands, The Friendship Commanders, have recently release an Albini mix on their song Outlive You. The title of the song is poetically ironic but I’m sure the band would trade all of that for some more time with Steve. It’s a nice tribute and it rocks proper in a way that honors Albini’s mission.
The life of a dive bar troubadour gets illuminated in the video for Sometimes, the new single from Leepeck. The grace of local commerce and embracing the scene represents what his work is about elegantly. It’s also a nice composition that reflects an influence of Neil Young and Damien Rice. Sit back and take it in.
