Edgar Everyone-U PUSH ME
Fans of MGMT and Tame Impala will love Edgar Everyone’s new single “U PUSH ME”. Edgar Everyone is a musical vision built around kaleidoscopic indie pop, with a propensity for groovy drums and funky synths. Edgar’s latest single feels like it was pulled straight from Prince’s vault. The vocals are biting and yet have a boyish falsetto to them that feels like a cross between Blood Orange and Kevin Parker. The production is multilayered and colorful, with neon synths and crunchy drums creating a musical soundscape that builds upon 80s R&B without feeling too gimmicky or like a throwback.

Happy Vacation-Horses, Champion

Happy Vacation’s new EP, simply titled EP, is sure to make waves in the indie scene. Two standout tracks from the project in particular, Horses and Champion, have really caught our attention. Horses is a indie pop banger that brings us right back to 2008, with slapback delay-soaked vocals and buzzy synth bass that feel right at home in an LCD Soundsystem song. One particular highlight is the chorus, with a melody that you can’t help but sing along to. Champion follows up on this track well, with more of a psychedelic vibe similar to Animal Collective. The vocals feel almost like they’re emulating those of Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys. The instrumental features phased, distorted organs and a syncopated drum groove that pulls heavily from Tame Impala’s early catalog, while still keeping things fresh.
