Frankie Bird-23

Frankie Bird has really delivered with her new single. Frankie Bird’s new single, 23, is a meditative reflection on youth and the speed at which time passes. Lyrically, the song will hit especially close to home for young adults who are starting to look back at their adolescence and realize just how fast the world is moving around them. Frankie’s vocals truly shine against an acoustic instrumental that is as gentle as it is minimalistic. Fans of artists like Olivia Rodrigo and Gracie Abrams will love this simple yet powerful pop ballad.

Josh Phillips-How It Is

Josh Phillips’ new single carries on the more melancholic themes from the previous track. The new single from Asheville based singer Josh Phillips, who cut his teeth with the party-funk band Yo Momma’s Big Fat Booty Band and the Josh Phillips Folk Festival, has continued his transition to more serious and reflective musical works with this track, the second single from his forthcoming album Everything’s Good. Josh’s vocals are complemented with a soundscape of Mellotron strings, Pink Floyd esque rock guitars and plodding drums. The lyrics communicate the pain of a breakup expertly, with a maturity that really shows in the vocal performance.

Moon Under Water-Autumn Mirror

Fans of Fleet Foxes and Arcade Fire will love the last song we’re covering from UK band Moon Under Water. This track is a folk rock banger that has almost a 70s feel in terms of the songwriting. The vocals are stacked and covered in reverb that feel almost reminiscent strangely enough of ELO and America. The guitar solo around the 2 minute mark is a real highlight, with a tone that would put John Mayer to shame. Moon Under Water’s newest album released back in May, with the new addition of drummer Adam Newton to the lineup.
