Jason McLean-Bleeding
Jason McLean’s new track, Bleeding, has been in our rotation since it came out. This track, the latest from the Canadian singer-songwriter since his 2022 self titled EP, is a mellow, meditative ballad with a waltz feel. The vocals have a hushed tenor quality to them, with a sound comparable to Jeff Buckley or Nick Cave. Layers of jangly guitars fill out the arrangement, with one note piano lines creating memorable transitions. Fans of bands like Radiohead and Arcade Fire will love this track.

The Campbell Apartment-Boys Like Driving

The Campbell Apartment’s new song, Boys Like Driving, provides a much more upbeat lift coming from the last track. Based out of Oakland, The Campbell Apartment is a project led by singer Ari Vais, that seeks to make “classic indie rock like mom used to make.” This track is a fun, raucous track perfect for a fun party atmosphere or a night on the town. Fans of Weezer and The Kinks will love the retro rock ‘n roll feel, with distorted guitars, booming drums and a chorus of vocals that come together for a feel good vibe.

Jay’s Expedition-Good Night E

Wrapping up today’s post is from Jay’s Expedition. This track is a left field indie tune from the Swedish fintech entrepreneur turned musician, with a production style based on chill, soft synthesizers. The track has a very Ok Computer-era Radiohead inspired feel. Organ-esque synth pads, icy kalimba lines and tribal drums create an interesting musical landscape. Fans of artists like MGMT will love this track.
