Avid Beats-World Behind the Clouds

Avid Beats’ new single effortlessly blends lofi hip hop with folk music for a unique, relaxing experience. The vocals feature a light falsetto for the lead from Avid Beats, which communicate the themes of looking back on the sadness of the past and towards a brighter future. This track is the final track on Avid’s first solo EP, and serves to wrap up the music well. The production, a collaboration by Avid and producer Laertis, is a smooth lofi beat with drums that contrast the sad lyrics and guitar work.

OK Cowgirl-Little Splinters

For those looking for a more upbeat, pop punk sound, OK Cowgirl’s newest single, Little Splinters, has you covered. OK Cowgirl, having been a staple in the NYC indie rock scene for over 10 years, has continued to show their prowess at making relatable rock anthems. Lead vocalist Leah Lavigne uses the track to communicate a message of self love and acceptance, with “little splinters” being a metaphor for the feeling of insignificance one can feel before they begin to fully accept themselves for who they are. Fans of Paramore and Avril Lavigne will be sure to appreciate the throwback pop punk instrumental. This track is the lead single to their upcoming LP, Couldn’t Save Us From My Gut, due to release August 16th through Easy Does It Records.

This final track continues in the vein of the previous song’s more alt rock sensibilities, with Liv Hanna’s new single Sign it On the Line. The Miami based singer/songwriter/model shows her versatility on this song, with the grungier alt rock serving as a departure from her usual mix of pop and R&B. Liv demonstrates her star power with her performance on this track, accompanied by subtle guitar work that picks up in the chorus. Fans of “sad girl” pop such as Olivia Rodrigo, Phoebe Bridgers and Billie Eilish will be sure to appreciate this tune, and we’re excited to see where Liv goes from here.
