Fans of alt pop will love Hallie K’s new record, what they don’t tell you. Released as her senior project for college, Hallie’s new project showcases her prowess as a songwriter and vocalist. Hallie takes influence from a vast array of styles and artists, and her music is inspired by classic singer-songwriters including Fleetwood Mac and Sara Bareilles. Perhaps Hallie’s biggest influence is Taylor Swift, with the track “the girl” being a spin on Taylor’s own hit single “The Man”.

This EP spans a wide variety of genres, ranging from heartbreaking piano ballads on songs like “call me home” and “wouldn’t be true”, synth pop on the intro track “twenty one”, and pop punk on tracks like “a tall tale”, featuring Nick Torrado. Hallie really shows off her versatility on this record and we’re excited to see what she does next.
