Alternative act Principe Valiente has really delivered with their new record, In This Light. The Stockholm-based duo has just delivered their newest album for Metropolis Records, which is sure to captivate the listener with its dark, ambient soundscapes. Highlighting the track “Silent Dreamer”, lead vocalist Fernando Honorato’s rich baritone compliments the sound well. His vocals distinctly call to mind artists like David Bowie and Morrissey.
The arrangement is moody and ambient, with a trippy feel throughout. The band often uses the Mellotron synthesizer to fill out their arrangements, which creates a unique blend of psychedelic and ambient rock. They often use jangling 12 string guitars and booming drum parts that call to mind alternative bands from the 80s like the Cocteau Twins and REM.
