Fans of alternative pop will love Athena Lim’s new single, White Dust! The newest pop single from the UK based singer-songwriter offers a breezy upbeat sound that is perfect for summertime. Athena’s vocals are light and complement the track well, with a sound that is comparable to artists like Lilly Allen.
The instrumental is built around bright, shimmering guitars that are prevalent to the modern indie sound. The drums are punchy and add a driving sound to the arrangement, with a new wave feel reminiscent of Mac Demarco, the 1975 and The Strokes. Near the end the guitars phase in and out not dissimilar from psychedelic acts like Tame Impala. This is a fun track that will add some lift to any summer playlist.
