LA based songwriter The Wren continues her standard of excellence with the release of her new single April fools.  This intoxicating acoustic gem sparkles within a diverse stylistic scope, wavering between an influence of 90s acoustic R&B and modern indie folk.  In that way we hears some of the alt R&B flavor known to Charlotte Day Wilson with a classic temperament akin to Sade or Aaliyah.  The Wren is a vibe. 

Tamar Berk continues to celebrate the release of her 2023 album tiny injuries with a new music video for her single permanent vacation.  Indie rock with a 90s heart, the single has the alt rock sensibility of The Breeders with some intriguing indie folk contrast courtesy of the stylistic Tijuana brass horn production.  The song suits the playful folly seen in the video, one thats adds some context to the personality that is the emerging indie star.  Check it out. 

NY four piece Loose Buttons drop a catchy trademark single with their song I Saw Jon Hamm At The Beach.  A song title this visible is bound to draw in the curious indie bypasser, and Loose Buttons delivers with some fun for all ear candy that has the indie sensibility of Dr Dog with some of the commercial appeal known to Weezer.  The video, with its cut out co star Jon Hamm, reminds us all that this is meant to be fun.  It’s baked into the songs message but competitive masculinity.  Don’t take yourself too seriously.

Raleigh NC indie band Good Deal is breaking through from the buzz they’re getting for their new EP Probably Not.  A colorful influence of jangle pop collides with an indie emo sensibility on stand outs like Biggest Fan.  That influence adapts darker on moody works like Circles.  For us the band blends the compositional auras of Indies like Band of Horses with a post emo sensibility akin to Modern Baseball and American Football.  Get it!  Check out the appropriately named Good Deal and their record Probably Not
