Recording as its own art form.  Often paired with song but sometimes finding the composition by embracing the inspiration the studio offers.  What artists most represent this for you?  Studio as an art tool resonates with the work of Pranatricks.  It’s heard in their new single Worlds.  Stripped away it might have been a slow core late Neil Young distorted guitar folk experiment.  The synths and crafted sounds finds Worlds in its own sonic universe, with the voice acting as your spiritual guide to walk you through all that Worlds has to offer.

Pranatricks – Worlds

This is how we imagine a collaboration between the aforementioned Neil Young and a young experimental Brian Eno might have developed.  An addiotional Floyd reference finds recognition in the final synth tastic moments, where the patch feels pulled right out of Dark Side.  Thats a great place to be, with the artist reflecting an indie sensibility in how Wilco treated their adored Yankee Foxtrot breakthrough, or even how Radiohead turned to the studio to illuminate their works.  We wouldn’t mind if a few more artists took cues from this release, we could use more abstract sonic brilliance. Worlds is simply magnificent.
