Toronto’s dreamy shoegaze buzz project SWiiMS just dropped a video for their single Fade Days. Featured on their recent album Into the Blue Night, the single embodies its namesake convincingly.

Bandmember Cian O’Ruaniaidh shot the video themself, which features some clever overlays and an exciting use of typography effects in the songs frantic closing moments.  The song itself is an intriguing blend of dream pop, shoegaze, and post rock.  Its cinematic in a lush way, one that feels married to a quiet rupture, meant to engulf you in waves of sonic washes.

SWIIMS – Fade Days

The singer has her own signature presence within this realm, one that bodes well within the aesthetic known to Beach House, DIIV, and Slowdive.  On Fade Days, SWiiMS add an influence of cinematic post rock icons Explosions In The Sky.

There’s a progressive abstract nature in contrast to some of their other more indie pop leaning arrangements.  Within the realms of shoegaze dream pop we think SWiiMS truly stands out.  Checkout the video and listen to all of their album.  See where it takes you.
