Podge Lane captures the spirit of the season with their new EP Snow / Hailstone. “Let your troubles go while you watch the falling snow.” The sentiment comforts you at the throes of wintery isolation. An EP in two parts, the introductory Snow offers a refreshing tribute that dares to embrace this complicated beauty. Stylistically we hear an influence of Jeff Tweedy to compliment Lane’s folk Irish roots.
An added appreciation for Americana shines on the secondary Hailstorm. “I used to think you were fun.” Like a classic wandering troubadour Podge Lane adds some humor and lyrical charm. The song features an effective acoustic arrangement. There’s a candid essence, much like the local players brought together beneath a pint at the local pub. Captured here to be enjoyed into infinity. Thank you Podge Lane.
