From the very first moments of their new album Sun Q captures your attention with the intense opening of the lead track Jane Doe.  Crashing into the hook, the band flaunts their anthemic nature.  We could easily hear this on the radio or as a highlight in the best scene of Hollywood movie.  This is the kind of catchy updated blues rock appeal that made The Black Keys and The White Stripes icons.

Sun Q offer their own twist on the Toni Iommi blues influenced riff work.  They adapt that influence further in the songs second movement, adding horns and and an inspired organ.  It only scratches the surface of where they’re willing to roam within this realm.

Out of nowhere a nostalgic synth solo dug out in their discoveries through classic Russian studios interrupts the rock design.  But alas, though these features add to their intellect, it’s the vocal talent of their lead singer that will put them on the map.  A true star in the new world of Rock, she has the Queen presence to take Sun Q from Russia to the top of the holy rock mountain.  This is as much a purveyor project as it is a sonic breakthrough within this style.

Jane Doe is just the beginning of their expansive new album Myth.  The whole album slaps.  Give it a full listen and follow them on IG!
