The syncopated pump heard on Moe has a hypnotic quality.  The humming vocal adds to the mantra affect.  The new single from Rhein was fittingly inspired by a Neo-freudian idea to write down dreams and create songs.  It delivers with a lucid reverence meant to inspire imaginative escape.

Moe reflects indie musics cinematic utility, often more about a vibe than a message.  It helps the band stay true to their native tongue while offering them international acclaim.  The new single simply breaks the language barrier, fully lifting off in a glorious outro section fit for an in concert breakout.  Stylistically we hear an influence of Radiohead and more recently Editors.  Check it out!

Aversions – Mirror Games

Aversions blend post punk and alt rock with a vicious fury that’s infectious. It’s heard on their new single Mirror Game.  Featuring dramatic progressive swings, the musical theaters suits the clever companion video (see above).

The dark comedy of this over the top dodge ball massacre cleverly reflects how adults often take their drinking games too seriously.  Musically it blends the classic aura of At The Drive In with some updated indie post punk flavor.  Check it out.
