Remi Charles embraces his dark indie pop soul on the succulent new single Succession.  Initially presenting as an immersive metaphysical journey in song, the intro collides with an infectious beat.  Beautifully produced, the bright sonic textures tickle your senses.  The arrangement suits Charles impressive vocal range.  His voice is silky smooth, adapting with attitude in a way that bridges the auras of James Blake and the king of pop. 

It’s heard in how he alternates from a seductive croon to a percussive catchy inflected delivery.  The composition is smart but doesn’t disqualify its mainstream potential.  It’s an eclectic blend, most effectively presenting with the spectrum of indie pop while featuring flashes of Soul, Funk, and Dance Pop.   A surefire crossover smash, Succession is a breakthrough from this London buzz artist.
