Fans of Clairo and Phoebe Bridgers will love Jen Ella’s new single, I must go to the party alone. The London based, Irish born singer songwriter has really delivered with her new single, which follows her 2021 tracks Lipstick Queen and Eyes for You. Jen Ella’s vocals are incredibly expressive and feature dense harmonic layering of the backing vocals.
The production is a folk pop inspired track that resonates with how emotionally powerful the lyrics are. The track features a shuffled waltz rhythm with folky acoustic guitars that give the chord progression a delicate feel. Fans of the work Lana Del Rey and Taylor Swift have put out in recent years will notice the similarities in stylistic choices, particularly in the use of acoustic and folk instrumentation.
