Josh Tepper’s new song Guide Me Meron hasn’t left our rotation lately. The new song from is a touching track that deals with personal struggles that Tepper has dealt with lately. Tepper looks for guidance following the passing of his grandparents and uses the ancient stories they’d tell him of Mount Meron, the center of the Kabbalah in Israel. The track will resonate with those who are spiritual or looking for emotional comfort in a time of deep distress.
The track is a soft piano ballad that emphasizes the emotional lyrics. Around the chorus, a more conventional indie arrangement rises up in the mix, with Police-esque guitars and 80s drums blasting through. Muffled drum machines boom throughout the track giving a sense of lift. Fans of the work Jack Antonoff has done with Bleachers will easily find a place for this song in their rotation.
