Zoe has really delivered with her new single, Sun. This new single is an optimistic, ambient pop song that has the potential to be the song of the summer. Zoe’s rich, soothing vocals serve to preach the message of the solar punk movement through pop; with a vision of the future in which humanity comes together. The message of the song is that we are all the same and live under the same sun which is a beautiful unifying message for the world. Zoe’s vocals have the vibrato and color of a balladeer like Kate Bush and communicate this message well.

The production is a gorgeous shimmering pop built primarily around citrusy electric guitars. The track feels almost like an ambient track with an upbeat pulse to it from the drums that kick in around the first chorus. One can almost sense an influence from bands like the xx or Mac Demarco in terms of the production, with a glossy sheen over the production that aids to the futurist message.
