We can’t stop listening to the new single from Friends & Amigos, Three Dollar Bill. The track, a light folk rock song released during Pride Month, is an emotional, almost overdramatic song about queer heartbreak. The title, coming from the old expression “queer as a three dollar bill” and is about how you’re more likely to find a three dollar bill than someone as invested in the relationship as you are.
The production is based primarily around alt rock and folk rock styles, with a retro sensibility. Jazzy nylon guitars accompany the vocals, with a classic electric guitar solo reminiscent of classic 70s glam rock filling the mix. This song is a good mix of upbeat lifting grooves and lyrics that will hit you right in the emotions when you’re going through a heartbreak.
