Fans of bands like Weezer will love the Sleepy Haunts’ new single, Peter Parker. The Seattle based female fronted band has provided a short, snappy tune that finds the vocalist comparing her love interest to Spiderman, where she would be Mary Jane. For fans of “nerd rock”, this track is a fun and cute jam that plays into the current wave of superhero fandom in popular culture.

The track is a fast paced pop punk track that wouldn’t be out of place in your average 90s teen movie. The guitars are heavy and chuck along a bright, major progression, with a break near the latter half of the track for the bridge. The arrangement of the song recalls bands like Green Day and Paramore, and a firm example of the pop punk revival sweeping the music industry.
