Irish singer-songwriter Malachy Touchy has really got our attention with his new single, Most of the Time. Tuohy, the lead vocalist for the Irish band The Riptide Movement, has stepped into the spotlight for this track, the lead single off his debut solo album, I Cross This Universe. Tuohy’s vocals are soulful and rich, with a tone reminiscent of artists like Elliot Smith.
The production is lush, subdued and chill, with a palette consisting of Wurlitzer electric piano, campfire style acoustic guitars and brushed drums. The track is accented by electric guitars that almost sound like lap steel. The arrangement is that of a gorgeous, minimalistic ballad that brings to mind artists like Jack Johnson.
