You’re missing out if you haven’t heard The Quixote Project’s new single, Into The Old. The multi genre act led by Jeff Selby is back, hot off the presses from their award winning record, Land of Plenty. The track, the lead single from their upcoming album Through the Thicket, is a meditative folk ballad with a waltz feel to the rhythm. Jeff Selby’s vocal is soulful with a husk to it that translate the feeling of the lyrics. His vocals recall those of classic vocalists like Joe Cocker. Selby’s soothing vocals are complimented by an arrangement that is primarily consisted of strummed acoustic guitars that give the song the feel of sitting at a campfire. A string section is brought into the mix around the chorus, with what sounds like an upright bass filling the low end. Overall, the track is a lush, beautiful ballad perfect for listening at a late night summer get together.
