Fans of indie pop will love the brand new single from Maisyn, Naked. The latest release from the LA based singer songwriter, Naked is the first since her 2021 EP Cool Girl. The song is a breezy pop jam that captures the butterflies of a new romance perfectly. Maisyn’s sweet and rich vocals capture the romance and flirtation of the lyrics well, with a vocal style that is reminiscent of modern pop acts like Taylor Swift and Maggie Rogers.
On the production side, this track feels like summertime. The production is lush, multifaceted and groovy, with layers of synthesizers and piano that are grounded by a driving bass and a drum machine that would not feel out of place on a Blood Orange track. The overall sound is bright and sugary, which compliment the lyrics that describe the highs of a budding romance and learning more about each other. Fans of artists like Clairo, the xx and the recent work John Mayer’s been putting out will find a solid place for this track in their rotation.
