Damien’s new single, Hurts. The final single from Damien’s upcoming album, the Brisbane based dark wave artist has really delivered on this track. This track has a moody, aggressive feel with pitched down, distorted vocals that feel reminiscent of 90s grunge and are almost unintelligible in a way that adds to the vibe.
The production is spacious and dark, with a soundscape consisting of distorted, roaring guitars over top of a gritty, booming drum machine beat. The track is dynamic in its arrangement, ranging from a minimalist guitar riff that compliments the vocal, to a lush beat full of angry, buzzing synthesizers and loud, blasting drums. Bright synthesizer stabs and neon arpeggiators are sprinkled throughout the track.
