We can’t stop listening to the new single by Hazey Grace, Daydream. The 3rd track off his debut EP of the same name, Daydream is a soulful acoustic ballad with sparse arrangements. Hazey’s vocals have a sweet falsetto to them that recalls much of the mid 2010s indie pop/psychedelic crossovers that artists like Omar Apollo and Steve Lacy thrive in.

The production is minimalistic yet relaxed, primarily consisting of acoustic guitars that compliment Grace’s vocals well, till the middle of the song when it blooms out into a full track. Watery stacks of overdubbed vocals, thumpy lead acoustic guitar lines and citrusy twanged electric guitars dominate the mix. Icy electric pianos and muffled drumming add a chilled out atmosphere to the song that really make it feel like a daydream.
